How I Make More Than $400+ Per Day From Writing Online
I made $1.42 in my first month of writing.
My first 100 articles were so bad even my mum wouldn’t read them.
I cringe when I look at them now.
I sucked. There’s no sugarcoating it.
But now, I make $10k+ per month from my writing.
Here’s the breakdown:
$1.5k Medium.
$6.5k ghostwriting.
$1–2k digital product sales.
$4.5k teaching solopreneurs my Limitless Writing System.
Here’s what I did to become a writerpreneuer.
I started writing in 2019
It took me over 5.5 years to become an overnight success.
I’m not talented.
I scored below average in English in high school and showed no signs of writing talent. My only skill is persistence. What I lack in talent, I make up for by showing up.
My secret to success? I never stopped.
Almost everyone who started writing with me in 2019 has quit.
You only need 3 things as an online writer:
The courage to start.
The persistence to continue.
The humbleness to keep learning.
If you write every day for over 5.5 years, get 1% better every day, and create a unique voice, success becomes inevitable.
Online writing is a long game.
Optimize for a marathon, not a sprint.
I got better at writing.
I became obsessed with writing.
I’d spent hours every day:
Reading top writers on Medium posts.
Listening to podcasts.
Consuming books.
I would then apply whatever I learned to my next article.
Every day would be a fractional improvement.
These small 0.5% or 1% improvements compound. Over time, my writing would get better and better, and more readers would come.
Here are the best writing tips I’ve learned the hard way:
Write for one person.
Promise a transformation in your headline.
Offer them painkillers, not a vitamin, to your reader’s problems.
Doing these three things will increase your writing by 80% or more.
I learned sales and marketing.
I knew f*ck all about business.
I didn’t know it could be a business model when I started writing.
I just loved writing. It was only after I started getting random inbound opportunities that I saw the light.
Don’t be a starving artist.
There’s already too many of them in this world (and on M3dium)
I teach people in my Modern Leverage community evergreen money-making skills:
Digital product creation.
Email marketing.
Offers.
Traffic.
With these skills, you’ll never go broke.
Whether you’re a one-person business owner, or 9–5 worker. Every business needs people with these skills.
Learn to sell your own product. Or be stuck selling someone else's.
I became polarizing
I write from my beliefs.
I used to be afraid of:
Taking a stand,
Promoting my philosophy,
Showcasing my personality.
But the more I did, the more I attracted my fans.
I don’t have extreme views, but I have my opinions on:
Why men shouldn’t settle until their mid 30s.
Why 9–5 workers should have a one-person business.
Why I believe AI will leave a lot of people over 40 unemployed.
Why everyone should travel solo overseas at least once in their lives.
People will naturally be attracted or repelled by what I just said.
Some of you might be nodding your head.
Or think I’m complete f*ckwit. But that’s what I want.
These aren’t even crazy opinions. But they are polarizing enough.
I’ve become more comfortable with people disliking me.
I simply don’t care.
I want people to have to make a choice about me. I don’t want fence-sitters.
I can be anything BUT boring online.
There’s never been a better time to become a writer.
Even with AI.
The ROI for human stories and connections has never been higher. People no longer need information. They want to be inspired, understood, and feel like they are part of a community.
If you’re ready to start, here’s what you need to do:
Start now, and don’t quit. Writing is a long game.
Obsess about daily progression, not instant perfection.
Build the business skills to turn your writing into dollars.
Take a stand on your beliefs, opinions, philosophy, and personality.
👉 I’ve previously sold a one-person business and I’m in the process of scaling another one to $20k per month. If you want my one-person business growth system, I’ve created a FREE email course for you to get started.
It's all in the not-stopping muscle. Through hell or high water, you can build something great if you just don't stop.
